On February 2015, Vendedy was selected as the USA representative for the global million dollar prize with Chivas’ The Venture competition. The Venture is Chivas Regal’s ongoing global search to find and support the most promising aspiring social entrepreneurs who want to succeed while making a positive impact on the lives of others. With over $1 million in funding and resources, The Venture will enable social entrepreneurs from around the world realize their potential and gain exposure for their business.
At the time, the start up was described as a social enterprise start-up that is digitising the street vending industry via mobile technology. The global competition occurred in July 2015 with 16 countries. Though Vendedy did not win, it raised $5,000 from the venture funding campaign and several global marketing partners.
Today, Vendedy is known for connecting tourists with street vendor markets and was highlighted most recently in an update with Chivas Regal.
